The project consisted of a two story office building providing offices, meeting spaces, educational areas and a roof-top garden. The rear of the facility is where the recyclables are received, sorted and staged in a 45,000 SF warehouse. The warehouse includes equipment pits, bunker walls, loading docks, and automated overhead doors. Jay Johnson served as Sr. Project Manager, and the project obtained LEED Certification, the first of any significant capital improvement projects for the Consolidated Government of Columbus and Muscogee County. The Columbus Recycling and Sustainability Center processes all recyclables for Muscogee County and the surrounding areas daily.
